Our team of skilled and dedicated staff will do everything possible to keep your pet healthy and happy. We understand that a visit to the vet can be stressful for your pet and we will do everything we can to make you and your pet feel at ease.

Vets

Patrick McKee BVetMed, BSc, MRCVS
patrick Patrick grew up in Killinchy, County Down. He studied at the Royal Veterinary College in London for six years, qualifying as a vet in 2004. Whilst at vet school he also completed an additional degree in veterinary pathology. He worked for two years in Dungannon and just over three years in Ballyclare - two of the largest practices in Northern Ireland. Just prior to starting Ashwood Veterinary Clinic with Rebecca, he spent some time working for the PDSA veterinary charity in Belfast. His particular interests include companion animal surgery and client care. He also enjoys sports including golf and tennis. Patrick and Rebecca have two cats, Zippy and Eric.
Rebecca McKee BVetMed, MRCVS
rebecca Rebecca grew up in Harlow in England and studied at the Royal Veterinary College, London, where she met Patrick. She qualified as a vet in 2003 and then spent a year working in general veterinary practice in Wales. Since coming to Northern Ireland in 2004 she has divided her time between a number of small animal practices in particular Bangor, Belfast and Ballyclare. She is particularly interested in companion animal medicine and surgery. She also enjoys jogging, cycling and craft work.

Nursing Team

Clare McIlveen RVN
clare Clare qualified as a veterinary nurse in January 2009 after completing the two year RVN course at Greenmount College and Clare Veterinary Group, Ballyclare. The nursing team at Ashwood provide nursing care to the hospitalised patients, and monitor the patients undergoing general anaesthetics. They are involved in the laboratory work of the practice and provide physiotherapy and aftercare to patients as required. Clare runs weight and dentistry clinics for our clients. In her spare time she enjoys eventing and show-jumping on her horse, Jack. She has a cat called Bella and a terrier called Kera.
Norma Graham
norma Norma helps at Ashwood on reception and is training in animal care. She is a qualified nurse and has worked in Casualty and Renal wards where she had a particular interest in renal nursing. She has also spent many years as a boarding school Matron. The role of an animal care assistant includes helping the veterinary nursing team with the day to day nursing of animals in our care.
