Obesity is a growing problem – literally! Just like in humans, too much food and too little exercise can cause our pets to become overweight. This puts excessive strain on the joints and can even shorten the lifespan of your beloved pet. If your pet is carrying too much weight, it can be hard to know what to do, especially if your dog likes to beg for treats or your cat seems to be being fed by the whole neighbourhood.
This is where we come in. Our registered veterinary nurses Bex, Anna, Kathryn and Chloe are all trained in weight management, and are happy to offer a free initial consultation to discuss how you can work together to help your pet lose weight. These consults usually last around 45 minutes, and will end with you coming away with a weight loss plan that is tailored to your individual pet and their lifestyle.
After this initial consultation we recommend check-ups every two weeks to weigh in, assess how things are going, and adjust the plan as needed. There is a small charge of £10 for each of these sessions, or if you prefer you can buy 6 sessions upfront for a discounted price of £50. Regular weigh-ins help keep motivation high and we’ve had some great success so far.
